John Culbert Appointed MBE

That the Parliament congratulates John Culbert on being appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to the textile and fashion industries in Scotland; understands that Mr Culbert currently serves as the managing director of Glenisla Kilts, after taking ownership of the factory in 2001 alongside four other employees; further understands that Glenisla is the largest producer of Scottish traditional kilts and supplies high-end garments to world-renowned fashion houses such as Burberry, Prada, Margaret Howell and many more, and commends Mr Culbert on his contribution to preserving the craftsmanship of Scottish textiles, in particular cashmere and kilts, as well as his dedication to showcasing the craftmanship of Scottish textiles on the world stage.
