That the Parliament congratulates YMCA Bellshill & Mossend on being awarded £271,100 from the SP Energy Networks Net Zero Fund; understands that this funding has enabled the charity to upgrade its heating system with two air source heat pumps, install energy efficient LED lighting, and fit triple-glazed windows in spaces used by community groups; considers that the £5 million Net Zero Fund, launched in 2022 by SP Energy Networks, plays a vital role in supporting communities to ensure that no one is left behind on Scotland’s net zero journey; believes that the fund directly supports organisations in SP Energy Networks’ transmission areas that are committed to green initiatives and decarbonisation across central and southern Scotland; recognises that, since the fund’s launch, over £3.7 million has been awarded to 27 community organisations and charities, with a projected total carbon saving of 28,904 tCO2e; applauds YMCA Bellshill & Mossend for its significant steps towards creating a sustainable, low-carbon space, and extends its best wishes for the charity’s ongoing efforts to decarbonise and achieve its net zero targets.
