  • Submitted by: Douglas Lumsden, North East Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 19 December 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-15948

That the Parliament commends Aberdeen International Airport for its outstanding support of local children's charity AberNecessities; recognises the significant fundraising achievement of over £65,000, which has been raised in 2024; notes the successful midnight Runway Run event, which saw nearly 400 runners complete a 4k race and raise £50,000; acknowledges the two-year partnership between the airport and the charity, which, it believes, is making a substantial difference to disadvantaged families in the local community; celebrates what it sees as the community spirit and charitable endeavour demonstrated by the airport and its participants; believes that such partnerships play a critical role in supporting vulnerable children and families; congratulates the entire AberNecessities team for its dedicated work, and wishes continued success to both the airport and the charity in their ongoing mission to support local families in need.
