That the Parliament congratulates Lauren Deacon on being named Community Hero at the Scottish Sports Awards 2024; acknowledges that Lauren was recognised for her work as Chair of the Central Netball Association (CNA) on 4 December at the awards held in Glasgow by sportscotland and Team Scotland; understands that Lauren has created and found success with various projects, including the launch of the CNA social league, Scotland’s first local association for recreational netball players; considers that Lauren has shown her commitment to providing new opportunities for players in the local area to access competitive, but flexible, grassroots netball, which has expanded from five teams in 2022, to 16 teams in 2024; congratulates Lauren on the recognition that she received at the Scottish Sports Awards 2024, and wishes her well as she continues to support and grow access to grassroots netball.
