Carrongrange High School’s Successful Fundraising

  • Submitted by: Michelle Thomson, Falkirk East, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 17 December 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-15892

That the Parliament congratulates Grangemouth’s Carrongrange High School on securing a mini-bus as a result of its creative and dedicated fundraising efforts; understands that fundraising efforts were varied, and included donations and sponsorship, with pupils and staff taking part in a West Highland Way Walk, a 10K and a half marathon; notes that the mini-bus was obtained via Variety Club Sunshine Coaches, which offers specially adapted transportation that is only available to eligible schools and non-profit organisations; acknowledges that, while Carrongrange was eligible for grant funding, it still had to raise one third of the cost itself; recognises the positive impact that this new mini-bus will have for the school and pupils, allowing for more opportunities for exciting trips and increased accessibility for disabled pupils; congratulates the pupils and staff at Carrongrange High School on their successful fundraising efforts, and wishes them all the best as they make use of this new vital resource.
