Congratulating Lynsey Russell, Gemma Burdett, Joan Rutherford, Rachel Gardiner and Faye Fowler

That the Parliament congratulates Lynsey Russell, Gemma Burdett, Joan Rutherford, Rachel Gardiner and Faye Fowler on their exceptional contributions to nursing in Scotland; commends Lynsey, who is a senior charge nurse, on being awarded the Royal College of Nursing Scotland Nurse of the Year Award, and notes her agency in transforming intensive nursing care at the Borders General Hospital; congratulates Gemma, who is a senior addiction nurse, on winning the Readers’ Choice Outstanding Contribution to the NHS Award at Scotland’s Health Awards, and acknowledges her commitment to addiction healthcare and substance abuse recovery; recognises Joan, who is a community clinical nurse manager at NHS Borders, for being a nominee for the Readers’ Choice Award, and whose nursing journey began over 44 years ago; congratulates Rachel, who is a learning disability nurse at NHS Borders, on being part of a team of Queen’s Nurses who won the Learning Disability Award at the Royal College of Nursing Awards; notes that Rachel and the team were nominated for their work on a project that aims to raise awareness of the need for better support for individuals with learning disabilities in the justice system, and congratulates Faye, who is a senior charge nurse at Knoll Community Hospital, on being awarded the prestigious Queen’s Nurse title after successfully completing the nine-month Queen's Nursing Institute Scotland programme.
