  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 17 December 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-15858

That the Parliament congratulates Lauren Magunnigal, who is a charge nurse in Health and Social Care North Lanarkshire's older adult community mental health team, on being awarded Queen’s Nurse status, becoming one of only 21 nurses in Scotland to achieve the honour in 2024; recognises that the Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland, established in 1889, supports, develops and inspires community nurses and midwives to become agents for health improvement and catalysts for social change, and commends Lauren for completing a rigorous nine-month Queen’s Nurse development programme, which encompassed intensive residential workshops, online sessions and personalised coaching, during which, it understands, she focused on promoting equality and inclusion, aiming to make a positive impact on the lives of people under her team’s care.
