That the Parliament congratulates the Farmers Choir on its performance on 30 November 2024 at the Borders Events Centre in Springwood, Kelso, organised by the Border Union Agricultural Society and directed by musical director, Kate Picken MBE; acknowledges that the Farmers and Farmers' Wives Choirs were established in 2013 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Scottish Association of Young Farmers; notes that the event was held to raise funds for the Border Union Schools Countryside Day and the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation; further notes that Borders farmer and international rugby legend, John Jeffrey, known as "The Great White Shark", hosted the evening, which featured popular songs and hits from iconic musicals; commends the choir for its efforts to support mental health awareness within the farming community, and applauds the Border Union Agricultural Society for raising nearly £200,000 with the generous backing of estates, trusts, businesses and individuals.
