Sandy Begbie Receives the Freedom of the City of London

That the Parliament sends its warmest congratulations to Sandy Begbie CBE FRSE, who is the chief executive of Scottish Financial Enterprise, on receiving the Freedom of the City of London; understands that the highly prestigious award is in recognition of his notable and longstanding contribution to Scotland’s financial and professional services sector, four decades on from leaving school, at 17, to join the Royal Bank of Scotland, and acknowledges Sandy's previous work, including leading the development of the Scottish Government’s Young Person’s Guarantee, chief transformation officer at Tesco Bank, responsibility for the Global People, Organisation and Culture Integration following the Standard Life and Aberdeen Asset Management merger, and as both Standard Life’s chief people officer and lead executive for China and Hong Kong for eight years.
