Award-winning Social Enterprises

That the Parliament recognises the outstanding achievements of the Isle of Gigha and the Simon Community in the social enterprise sector; notes that the Isle of Gigha Heritage Trust was awarded Social Enterprise of the Year at the Social Enterprise Awards Scotland 2024, and was recognised as Highly Commended at the UK Social Enterprise Awards; further notes that the Simon Community has been recognised for the Health Award at the UK Social Enterprise Awards; recognises what it sees as the significant contribution that these organisations make to their local communities, and to Scotland as a whole, in terms of social, economic and environmental impact; commends the innovative and sustainable business models employed by both organisations, which have led to success for these social enterprise and their communities; urges the Scottish Government to continue to support and promote social enterprise, and recognises what it considers to be its vital role in addressing social and economic challenges and creating a more just and equitable society.
