That the Parliament congratulates Fergus Archibald, of Drumoak, on winning the Deeside Against Pylons photo competition in summer 2024; further congratulates Amber Smith, of Forfar, on winning second place, and Iana Chtefan on achieving third place; notes that the competition attracted nearly 100 entries showcasing the stunning countryside of the north east of Scotland, which, it believes, faces potential destruction from the proposed SSEN Kintore to Tealing 400kV pylon and overhead transmission line project; understands that the photographs captured the area’s diverse landscapes, including its countryside, woodlands and farmland, highlighting the beauty and what it sees as the importance of preserving this environment, and commends all participants for their contributions, which, it considers, serve as a powerful reminder of the natural heritage at stake.
