That the Parliament congratulates Craig Davidson on winning the Scottish Craft Butchers SVQ Level 2 Modern Apprentice of the Year Award for 2024; notes that Craig, a 17-year-old apprentice at N G Menzies Butchers in Ballater, beat strong competition from apprentice butchers across Scotland to earn this award; acknowledges what it sees as Craig’s remarkable journey, having left school at 15 with no qualifications to pursue a career in butchery, and formally being inducted into the apprenticeship programme at 16, where he immediately impressed assessors with his proficiency in more than 70% of the course work from the outset; believes that Craig possesses knowledge and skills beyond his years, coupled with exceptional customer service abilities; commends him for his dedication and ambition, and wishes him every success as he continues his apprenticeship and works toward his goal of one day owning his own butcher’s shop.
