That the Parliament congratulates Alastair King on his appointment as the Lord Mayor of the City of London; notes that Alastair, originally from Strathdon, will serve as the international ambassador for the City of London during his one-year term; understands that his responsibilities will include leading business delegations overseas to key international markets on behalf of the City’s financial and professional services industry and working to strengthen global economic ties with the UK; recognises what it sees as Alastair’s commitment to innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, which, it believes, will contribute to driving British growth in the year ahead, and wishes him every success in his new role.
