  • Submitted by: Tess White, North East Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 04 December 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-15728

That the Parliament congratulates three fish and chip shops in the north east on being winners at the Scottish Fish and Chip 2024 Awards, with the Carron Fish Bar in Stonehaven being awarded Best Fish Supper (North East), the Garioch Fish Bar in Inverurie winning Best Team and the Quayside Restaurant & Fish Bar in Gourdon winning Best Menu; recognises that the "chippies" were assessed by a panel of experts before being put through to a public vote; understands that thousands of votes were received from the general public, with hundreds of Scottish fish and chip shops taking part in the 2024 event, representing the best of the Scottish fish and chip industry; notes that the Carron was also highly recommended in two categories, for Best Family Business and Best Fish and Chip Shop (North East), and that the Quayside also received a highly recommended award for Best Fish Tea at the same awards, and wishes the winners all the very best as they enjoy their success.
