That the Parliament congratulates the young women participating in the 2024 Girls in Energy conference; commends Shell UK for establishing a course designed to encourage young women into STEM; acknowledges that the course will help tackle what it considers to be the growing requirement for a skilled workforce within the energy sector, whilst also taking steps to include women in a field in which they are often underrepresented; welcomes the record attendance rate at the Girls in Energy conference, with approximately 240 female students across 17 different schools in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, and wishes this year’s cohort success in their future endeavours.
