That the Parliament welcomes the completion of 55 affordable new homes in the Finnieston area of Glasgow; notes that the development, built by JR Group for Glasgow West Housing Association, in Dover Street began in 2021 and will now provide safe, environmentally friendly, sustainable housing as the city approaches its one-year anniversary of declaring a housing emergency on 30 November 2023; congratulates JR Group on its support for the local community through the provision of donations to local primary schools, Anderston Primary School and Glasgow Gaelic School, and the provision of welcome packs to the new tenants moving in, including kitchenware, bedding and toiletries, and considers that more such developments will be required across Glasgow to meet demand and end what it considers to be the practice of boarding people presenting as homeless in temporary accommodation such as hotels.
