That the Parliament congratulates the University of Glasgow on the 50th anniversary of the founding of its Oncology Department; further congratulates all at the Wolfson Wohl Cancer Research Centre (WWCRC) on its 10th anniversary; commends the dedication of researchers and clinicians in pioneering discoveries and treatments that, it understands, have saved lives in Scotland and around the world; applauds the significant commitment to collaborative working nationally and internationally that can lead to significant advances in cancer prevention, treatment and care; pays tribute to what it sees as the prevalent altruism of many people with cancer in the west of Scotland who have been willing to take part in clinical trials to help improve the outcomes for others affected by cancer; recognises what it considers to be the world-class status of expertise, equipment and facilities in Glasgow to enable the delivery of ground-breaking education, research and treatment; sends its immense gratitude and encouragement to all those who have made such advances possible, and wishes them continued fulfilment in their impactful work.
