Orkney Historian Bryce Wilson Named Curator Emeritus of Stromness Museum

That the Parliament congratulates the Orkney historian, Bryce Wilson, on the news that he has been honoured with the title of Curator Emeritus by the Stromness Museum trustees; understands that this title has been awarded in recognition of Bryce’s 40 years of dedicated voluntary service; notes that this is the first time that the title has been awarded; believes this to be a reflection of the distinct impact that Bryce has had on shaping the museum into the much-beloved and admired institution that it is today; pays tribute to Bryce’s unwavering commitment to the museum and to sharing his valuable knowledge of the town’s maritime and natural history; acknowledges the role that independent museums, such as Stromness Museum, play in enriching the cultural and educational community of Orkney, and thanks Bryce for his commendable contributions to the invaluable work of Stromness Museum over many years.
