That the Parliament congratulates East Haven Together on winning the 2024 UK Gardening for Wildlife award at the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Britain in Bloom finals in Manchester; recognises that East Haven Together is a member of the Keep Scotland Beautiful Climate and Nature Friendly Communities Network, and won the Scottish Community Awards final that saw it entered into the RHS Britain in Bloom competition; further recognises that the RHS Community Awards were piloted this year to celebrate the work that groups do in the context of what it sees as the changing world, including biodiversity collapse, the increasing importance of a connection to nature for wellbeing, and the climate emergency; understands that East Haven Together is a community environmental group based on the east coast of Angus, near Carnoustie, that works to improve and protect its local area, protect wildlife and promote biodiversity; notes that East Haven Together has developed its own sustainability strategy, working on local, national and global goals; further notes that it was commended by the judges for the regular "bioblitzes" that it carries out, its community engagement, collecting data and contributing to citizen science projects, as well as for working closely with the Butterfly Conservation Society to conserve and protect the small blue butterfly, and also its work with young people in an outdoor classroom that it has created, with work centred on environmental resilience, and commends East Haven Together for winning the Scottish and UK level of the RHS Gardening for Wildlife Award, ahead of groups from all across the UK.
