Congratulations to Jim Fraser on Double Award Success for Lifetime Achievement

  • Submitted by: Humza Yousaf, Glasgow Pollok, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 21 November 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-15480

That the Parliament congratulates the newly retired, long-serving Elderpark Housing Association staff member, Jim Fraser, on double wins for Lifetime Achievement Awards from Tenants Information Service and the CIH Scotland Housing Awards 2024; understands that Jim first joined Elderpark in 1981 as a painter for a 12-week contract, and eventually became Estates Management Inspector in 2006; further understands that he decided to forego opportunities to move within the housing sector because of his desire to serve Elderpark and the neighbourhood where he grew up; believes that his tenure of 43 years means that he could well be the longest-serving estates staff member to have worked with one housing provider anywhere in Scotland; highlights this remarkable double win as a fitting recognition of a career dedicated to the local Govan community; thanks Jim for his outstanding contributions and service, and wishes him all the very best for his retirement and the future.
