  • Submitted by: Beatrice Wishart, Shetland Islands, Scottish Liberal Democrats.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 14 November 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-15436

That the Parliament congratulates Frankie’s Fish and Chips, in Brae, Shetland, on winning the Best Chip Shop (North) category and being Highly Recommended in the Best Fish Supper (North) and Best Dine In Restaurant categories at the Second Annual Scottish Fish and Chip Awards on 11 November 2024; understands that restaurants and takeaways from across the country go through a public vote and are judged by a panel of experts who travel all over Scotland to try fish and chips, unannounced, at the restaurants and mark them on criteria including the quality of the fish, the taste and value; notes that Frankie’s Fish and Chips is the most northerly fish and chip shop in the UK and has previously won an award for being the No. 1 Fish and Chip Shop UK; believes that its award win and highly commended certificates at the 2024 Scottish Fish and Chip Awards demonstrate Frankie’s Fish and Chips’ continued commitment to providing high-quality food to its customers using fresh local seafood; considers Frankie’s Fish and Chips to be an asset to Shetland, and wishes all at the takeaway and restaurant well with their future endeavours.
