That the Parliament congratulates Glasgow Kelvin College on winning an International Green Gown Award in the category of Next Generation Skills & Learning; understands that the Green Gown Awards acknowledge exceptional sustainability initiatives by universities and colleges across the world; recognises that the college won the award for its Fighting Fast Fashion projects, which aim to embed sustainability practices into teaching and learning, as well as redesign and revitalise the curriculum to address the negative environmental and social impacts of the fashion industry; understands that one of the projects involved the college’s fashion students repurposing donated sample wedding dresses to design and create brand new bridal gowns, allowing students to develop their creativity while working with high-quality materials and learning about sustainable approaches to the fashion industry; commends the staff and students at Glasgow Kelvin College for this significant achievement on the international education stage, and wishes them all the best as they continue to inspire future change in the fashion industry.
