That the Parliament congratulates The Woolly Pig Company, based in Brodoclea Woodland, North Ayrshire, on winning the Best Agroforestry Award at the 2024 Scottish Agricultural Awards; acknowledges the significant work undertaken by The Woolly Pig Company in developing a sustainable agroforestry model that integrates 160 Mangalitsa pigs, also known as "woolly pigs", across 430 acres of Brodoclea woodland; recognises that this award highlights the company’s approach in combining agriculture and forestry practices to enhance biodiversity and soil health; commends The Woolly Pig Company for its commitment to sustainability, animal welfare and agroecological principles, which, it believes, serve as a positive example within Scotland’s agricultural sector; acknowledges the company’s contribution to the local economy and community through green job creation and eco-friendly practices; appreciates the dedication of Mr David Carruth in supporting a sustainable future for Scottish agriculture, and wishes The Woolly Pig Company continued success in its future endeavours.
