Kilmarnock Businessman Surprised with Well-deserved Award

That the Parliament welcomes the news that Peter Telfer, of Kilmarnock, has received the Scotland Loves Local Place Leader Award; understands that Peter was surprised with the award, at a meeting of Kilmarnock Business Association, for his dedication to Kilmarnock’s development, support for local businesses, leadership in regeneration projects and commitment to collaborative working; further understands that Peter is the managing director of Urquhart Opticians, which has 13 branches, and a member of Kilmarnock Town Board; recognises Peter’s involvement in the promotion the East Ayrshire gift card and the Scotland Loves Local campaign, in addition to his support for improvements to St Marnock’s Square and the creation of the town’s Countess and Robert Burns murals; commends Peter for his positive contributions to the Kilmarnock community through his promotion of local business schemes and town regeneration, and wishes him all the best in the future.
