That the Parliament commends the Coatbridge-based James Dempsey Retirement Housing Tenants and Residents Association for being awarded a £7,350 grant from the National Lottery Community Fund toward a one-year project that will provide an events and activities programme to help reduce isolation in the community for people of retirement age; believes that this funding goes to an important cause, as loneliness among older people remains a prevalent issue in many communities; considers that the association does vital cohesive work, and believes that this grant will allow it to go further in what it sees as the already effective service that it provides.
