Harestanes Primary School Wins Gold for Sport

That the Parliament congratulates Harestanes Primary School, in Kirkintilloch, on attaining the Gold School Sport Award by sportscotland; commends the dedication of staff and pupils through their journey of being awarded Bronze, Silver and now Gold awards; recognises the encouragement and support of head teacher Ms Jackie Gillespie and the senior management team in aligning the School Sport Award with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in their planning and delivery of activities; applauds the school’s commitment to shared decision-making between pupils and staff, especially in choosing which extra-curricular activities could take place both at lunchtime and after school; notes the partnership working with Active Schools co-ordinators, coaches, and wholeheartedly thanks the volunteer parents, whose involvement is invaluable in ensuring that every child can thrive; delights at the regular participation of the pupils of the Health Committee in taking part in school assemblies; sends its grateful thanks to the team at sportscotland for its enthusiasm and support, and wishes everyone at Harestanes Primary School continued enjoyment of sport and lasting impact of this award.
