Nairn St Ninian Women’s Walking Football Team

That the Parliament congratulates the Nairn St Ninian over-40s women’s walking football team on securing sponsorship from local business, Strut Shoe Shop; considers that this vibrant and energetic team, which was established in November 2022, is currently the only women’s walking football team serving the Highlands and Moray, providing an invaluable community and fitness resource for local women; acknowledges what it sees as the important role that the team plays in promoting health, fitness, and social connection among women in the region; commends the enthusiasm of club founder, Deanna Lundie, whose leadership has, it understands, fostered a supportive environment dedicated to active lifestyles and camaraderie; applauds the team’s slogan, “We do not walk, we strut”, which reflects the team’s confidence, style, and determination as well as the values of Strut Shoe Shop; commends Strut’s owner, Georgina Innes, for her commitment to community wellbeing and empowerment through this sponsorship, and wishes the team continued success as the players look forward to their first match and an exciting season ahead.
