That the Parliament welcomes the jobs and skills base that Barclays Campus has brought to Glasgow; commends the new hub, created by the Scottish Financial Enterprise (SFE), in its aims to address accessibility and issues of perception in the finance sector; recognises that a recent survey from SFE and Citypress found that 40% of people in Scotland do not believe that they have the right qualifications to work in financial services, while almost a quarter of people (24%) believe that the industry is elitist; notes that the new hub aims to demystify some of the industry jargon and encourage people from a variety of backgrounds to go into a career in the finance sector, by providing straightforward information about opportunities and employers in finance, and considers that the campus has the potential to break down the traditional barriers that are faced by those considering a career in the finance sector.
