The ARCHIE Foundation

  • Submitted by: Kevin Stewart, Aberdeen Central, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 31 October 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-15138

That the Parliament congratulates the ARCHIE Foundation on receiving a grant of £105,811 from the National Lottery Community Fund; notes that the ARCHIE Foundation, which was formed in 2000 to support the building of the new Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital, has helped over one million children by funding vital extra services to complement what it sees as the excellent care provided by NHS Grampian; understands that it has since extended its services to become a key provider of vital support to families across the north of Scotland; believes that the group will use this grant to support its Child Bereavement Service, which provides direct support, advice and guidance for children and young people who have experienced the death of someone close to them or someone who has held a key place in their life; hopes that this grant will go a long way in ensuring the successful delivery of this service, and wishes the ARCHIE Foundation all the very best with its endeavours.
