That the Parliament applauds the Lawmuir Primary School pupils, April Aitken and Jessica Williamson-Donald, from Bellshill, for their exceptional achievement in raising over £1,240 for Scotland’s Children First, far surpassing their original target of £200; understands that these determined young fundraisers embarked on the inspiring challenge of climbing all Munros named after their school houses in spring 2024, completing this extraordinary feat in September with an ascent of the 4,413ft Ben Nevis; notes that they have also conquered the summits of three other iconic mountains, Ben Lomond, Ben Vorlich and Schiehallion, overcoming the full range of Scottish weather conditions to reach their goal; believes that their resilience, courage and commitment to a vital cause serve as an inspiring example to others; acknowledges their choice of Children First as their charity, motivated by their desire to support children across Scotland, helping to protect them from harm, ensure their safety, and aid their recovery from trauma and abuse; understands that these two adventurous pupils are now dedicated to scaling all 282 Munros across Scotland, and extends its best wishes for their success in achieving this extraordinary ambition.
