West Harris Trust Wins Award for Outstanding Island Business

That the Parliament congratulates the West Harris Trust on winning the Bakkafrost Scotland Award for Outstanding Island Business at the Prosper Highlands and Islands Business Excellence Awards 2024, held in Inverness; understands that the award recognises a business in the Highlands and Islands that is making an outstanding contribution to prosperity and sustainable growth; further understands that the community landowning charity, West Harris Trust, is responsible for 7,225 hectares of land on the Isle of Harris, creating employment and housing opportunities; commends the work of the fellow nominees, Peterson Energy Logistics and Benbecula Distillery, for the significant benefits that they deliver for islands in the region; recognises the commitment of Prosper to supporting business and prosperity in the Highlands and Islands, and celebrates all the finalists and local businesses for their positive impact and contribution to local communities and the local economy of the Highlands and Islands.
