Dunbeath and District Centre

That the Parliament acknowledges the invaluable contributions made by the volunteers and staff at the Dunbeath and District Centre in Caithness, whose hard work, dedication, and tireless efforts ensure the delivery of crucial services to the local community, as well as residents from further afield; recognises the wide range of services provided by the centre, including workshops, lunches, entertainment, and food support services, all of which, it considers, promote wellbeing, reduce isolation and foster a sense of community for older adults and vulnerable people; notes the centre’s commitment to health and wellbeing support through its outreach programmes; acknowledges what it sees as the significant positive impact that it has on the lives of those in rural and remote areas; commends the remarkable efforts of the volunteers and staff, including Anna Elder, the centre’s longest-serving assistant with over 30 years of service, Anne Sutherland, the centre’s coordinator of 11 years, Doreen Macleod, who has been a dedicated centre assistant for nine years, and Caroline Budge, the centre coordinator for the past 18 months; considers the Dunbeath and District Centre to be a vital element of community spirit and support, offering an essential lifeline to so many, and encourages recognition and support for its vital work.
