Congratulating Dr Roisin Campbell-Palmer on Winning an IFAW Animal Action Award

That the Parliament congratulates Dr Roisin Campbell-Palmer, Head of Restoration with the Beaver Trust, on receiving one of the prestigious International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) Animal Action Awards at the 24th annual ceremony, held on 17 October 2024 at London’s BAFTA headquarters; acknowledges her instrumental role in the rewilding of beavers in Britain and in particular in Scotland, leading, it understands, to their official protected status and the establishment of a regenerating population across the country; recognises her extensive contributions over more than 15 years, including authoring over 25 peer-reviewed publications and the Eurasian Beaver Management Handbook; commends her recent efforts in the historic release of beavers in Scotland, including in Argaty and the Cairngorms National Park, and in London, and applauds her dedication to conservation, animal welfare, and the promotion of biodiversity.
