That the Parliament recognises that Whitecraigs Tennis Squash and Fitness Club in Eastwood recently hosted the prestigious Scottish Clay Court Championships as part of the Tennis Scotland Open Tour; understands that the tournament was held between 16 and 19 September 2024 and that the event involved hugely promising tennis players from Eastwood, across Scotland and further afield in the UK, competing for prizes, and to improve their rankings; considers that the Whitecraigs sports club has fantastic tennis facilities, including six floodlit advantage red artificial clay courts, and believes that it was an excellent choice by Tennis Scotland to host this year's tournament there; understands that the tournament is believed to be the biggest tennis event hosted by Whitecraigs in terms of prestige and the standard of play; acknowledges the hard work of everyone at the sports club for the organisation and management of the event; commends all of the tennis players who participated in both the men's and women's events and ensured that the 2024 Scottish Clay Court Championships was a resounding success; considers that the Whitecraigs Tennis Squash and Fitness centre is a key part of its community, and wishes the club every success for the future.
