That the Parliament welcomes the success of a recent Eastwood golf tournament in raising thousands of pounds to support people who are receiving treatment for cancer; understands that the sporting event at the East Renfrewshire Golf Club in Newton Mearns generated funding of more than £12,000 for the Beatson Cancer Charity in Glasgow; recognises that this was the second annual golf event hosted at the course in Eastwood by developer Persimmon Homes West Scotland to raise funds for the Beatson and with over 85 people participating in the tournament; acknowledges that the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre is internationally recognised for the provision of high standards of care both in terms of clinical activity and the number of patients who receive treatment at the medical facility; believes that it is the busiest cancer centre not only in Scotland but throughout the UK, and commends all of the organisations and individuals who were involved with the recent golf tournament in Newton Mearns and raised vital funds to support the Beatson.
