That the Parliament celebrates the achievement of the Royal Regiment of Scotland (SCOTS) in receiving the Freedom of North Lanarkshire; understands that a parade was held on 13 September 2024 in Motherwell to recognise the outstanding service of the SCOTS to the country and the local area; notes that the regiment marched with bayonets, colours flying, and a marching band; further notes that a civic ceremony was then hosted by the Provost of North Lanarkshire, Kenneth Duffy, and the Lord Lieutenant of Lanarkshire, Lady Susan Haughey, and understands that the parade also served to mark the homecoming of two SCOTS who returned from the Middle East recently.
