That the Parliament celebrates the opening of the new track at the Pickaquoy Centre in Kirkwall; notes that Orkney Athletic and Running Club (OARC) held the Sheila Fleet OARC Championship on 22 September 2024; understands that 90 athletes took part in events held on the newly opened track and field where myriad personal bests were set and seven age-group records were broken; recognises what it sees as the importance of this renovation ahead of the Orkney 2025 Island Games, and applauds the Pickaquoy Centre track renovation as an example of good investment in sport and what it can do to bring communities together and engage in physical activity.
