That the Parliament congratulates Bute Community Land Company on Bute Community Forest being shortlisted in the Community-led Regeneration category of the prestigious 2024 SURF Awards for Best Practice in Community Regeneration, which identifies and celebrates best practice, innovation and achievement in interventions that improve Scottish communities; acknowledges that Bute Community Land Company owns and manages 160 hectares of mixed woodland at the northern end of the Isle of Bute, including commercial forestry, an Atlantic temperate rainforest, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and abundant native broadleaf trees in areas of ancient woodland; commends the charity for increasing local community access to these woodland assets through recreation and environmental education activities that enhance and protect the natural environment, and recognises that Bute now has a Community Forest for people to learn about, visit and enjoy the natural world.
