That the Parliament applauds Sir James MacMillan and the Cumnock Tryst for winning the Sky Arts Award for Classical Music; recognises that the award was for the 2023 festival organised by the Tryst, which brought local performers and community groups together with world-acclaimed musicians; understands that the Sky Arts Awards recognises the best of British and Irish arts and culture, and that this therefore highlights the achievement of the Tryst; applauds Sir James for founding the Tryst in the area that he grew up in, in order to use music and the arts to assist in the regeneration of Cumnock; notes that the Cumnock Tryst will celebrate its 10th anniversary in October 2024, and wishes it the very best for the future.
