That the Parliament congratulates the committee of Edzell Village Improvement Society for all of the exceptional work that it does in the village of Edzell; understands that any person living in Edzell and the immediate surrounding area automatically becomes a member of the Village Improvement Society; recognises that the society has been in existence for around 125 years, and that, over the years, Edzell Village Improvement Society has grown to include a wide range of community-enhancing groups and activities; further recognises that the current committee consists of a small group of hard-working volunteers; notes that its regular activities include a Flower and Produce show, monthly car boot sales, charity shop, the picturesque public toilets, garden and flood sub-groups, Men’s Shed, annual bonfire night, Christmas shopping night, and various planned events throughout the annual gala week, and appreciates all of its efforts throughout the year for the benefit of the Edzell community.
