That the Parliament commemorates the 10th anniversary of the Edinburgh Tool Library (ETL); understands that it was established in 2014 to provide a thriving upcycling and community empowerment initiative; recognises that it encourages people to share and repair by offering them the opportunity to hire tools for DIY projects and save on costs of buying tools; notes that it encourages recycling by repairing and upcycling and provides opportunities for people from the communities that it serves, particularly younger and older people and people from minority groups, to learn new life and employability skills; further notes that, on 7 September 2024 it launched its programme, 10 Years of Sharing, which involves a series of exciting and inspiring events that celebrate the community that ETL serves; recognises that it has three sharing hubs, in Leith, Portobello and Meadowbank, which host trained volunteers who provide environmental and community work through providing building and training skills and helping to develop friendships among users of ETL, and wishes ETL all the best in its future endeavours.
