That the Parliament welcomes the success of Grow Uddingston at the Beautiful Scotland Awards 2024; understands that Grow Uddingston won the best Urban Community Award, and the Jim Murdie Trophy for Sustainability, which is presented to the community entrant that demonstrates best practice in sustainability; notes that Grow Uddingston won this trophy due to its successful tree planting project, with over two thousand native woodlands saplings having been planted; considers that this has been an inspiring example of community tree activism and environmental practices, which have put sustainable approaches that will yield long-term benefits for wildlife, biodiversity and community at the forefront, and notes that the Beautiful Scotland Awards are organised by environmental charity, Keep Scotland Beautiful, to recognise the achievements and hard work of community groups across Scotland for all that they do to enhance and protect their local areas.
