Ben Sandilands Wins Gold and Smashes World Record at Paralympics

That the Parliament commends Ben Sandilands on winning the Gold medal and setting a new world record at the Paris Paralympics in the men’s T20 1500 metres at the Stade de France; understands that his time of 3 minutes 45.40 seconds beat the previous world record by 0.10 seconds and finishing four seconds ahead of his nearest rival; further understands that Ben is a member of Fife Athletic Club and is coached by Steve Doig, training at the Pitreavie Athletic Centre in Dunfermline; believes that his achievements will inspire athletes and fans throughout Scotland, and congratulates Ben Sandilands and the entire British Paralympics team on their achievements at the Paris 2024 Paralympics.
