  • Submitted by: Paul O'Kane, West Scotland, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 19 August 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-14130

That the Parliament understands that Cochrane Care Home, situated in Johnstone in Renfrewshire, has recently turned 20 years old; further understands that integral members of the care team, namely carers Liz, Sandra, Linda and Grace, have been working in Cochrane Care Home for the last 20 years; congratulates these four carers on their two decades of service to caring for residents, past and present, and for being a constant presence in an otherwise ever-changing care environment; notes that Liz, Sandra, Linda and Grace have received recognition in the form of gifts and cards from the families of care home residents and from the leadership team of the care home; considers that care homes in recent years have come through very difficult times, including the COVID-19 pandemic, and that it is because of the dedicated members of staff that they remain safe and supportive environments for the people who require them; congratulates Cochrane Care Home on being open for 20 years, and wishes it the very best in continuing its invaluable service for the next 20 years.
