Sir Andy Murray Retirement

That the Parliament sends its very best wishes to Sir Andy Murray on the announcement of his retirement following the 2024 Paris Olympic Games; celebrates what it considers to be the extraordinary contribution of Sir Andy to Scottish and British sporting success over the years, most notably winning Wimbledon in 2013 and 2016, and, following the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, reaching the prestige of world number one; commends what it sees as Murray’s impact in restoring success in British tennis, having become the first British male player to win Wimbledon since 1936, and wishes him the best of luck going into his final matches in Paris.
