That the Parliament commends the contribution of Whitelee Windfarm to the local community, including to Kilmarnock YMCA, which has received more than £100,000 that it has invested in a variety of creative ways, building what it considers to be fantastic assets; notes that Take a Bow Kilmarnock received £150,000 to help develop its performing arts facilities, that Above Adventure in Kilmarnock received £250,000 to help it create an international standard climbing arena, and that Stewarton Initiatives received £95,000 towards its Community Hub; welcomes the work that the team at Whitelee has done to leave the local ecological environment more diverse and richer, including, it understands, award-winning peatland restoration and management, two full-time Countryside Ranger posts, cutting-edge research into the genetic diversity of insects, and being the only windfarm to receive a Green Flag Award; welcomes the £60 million reportedly contributed from ScottishPower Renewables to 36 communities across the UK, with more than 5,000 projects benefitting from the funds, leaving lasting and positive legacies for generations to come, and further welcomes the future ambition of ScottishPower Renewables to create net zero towns and villages across Scotland.
