That the Parliament commends MWI (men with issues) on the success of its grassroots initiative, which has been developed to offer mental health support to men; notes that the organisation is run by Kieran McGuire, Danny Turner and Scott Munn, with the first group meeting taking place in East Kilbride and expanding across the central belt; recognises that the initiative is now a growing community where men of all ages can share, connect and work to break the stigma that is often associated with mental health; acknowledges that, in Scotland, men are 2.9 times more likely to die from suicide than women and recognises therefore the importance of community, connection and peer support; notes that the group has carried out prevention work across schools and outreach programmes in prisons; thanks the team at MWI for their passion and dedication toward offering a vehicle of mental health support for men; congratulates them on working hard to support each other, and wishes MWI all the very best for the future.
