P&J Live Unveils Major Sustainability Campaign

  • Submitted by: Jackie Dunbar, Aberdeen Donside, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 15 July 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-13885

That the Parliament commends P&J Live on launching a major sustainability campaign to cut its carbon emissions in half by 2030, and to achieve net zero by 2050; understands that the venue worked closely with Positive Planet to measure its carbon emissions, and will now be implementing a carbon emissions reduction plan, which amalgamates several different sustainability initiatives relating to energy, transport, food supply, waste and marketing; further understands that as part of the sustainability campaign, venue staff and key stakeholders have also signed a sustainability pledge, which outlines their personal commitment to reduce carbon emissions; recognises that the announcement of the sustainability campaign coincided with the UK’s official Net Zero Week, which raised awareness about the importance of achieving sustainability targets; commends the team at P&J Live for launching the sustainability campaign, and believes that such facilities will contribute to establishing Aberdeen as a global net zero capital.
