That the Parliament expresses its sadness at the passing of the St Mirren FC Scottish Cup winning captain, Billy Abercromby, at the age of 65; recognises that he famously led St Mirren FC to its third Scottish Cup triumph in 1987 and was part of the club’s First Division title winning side in 1976-77 and Anglo Scottish Cup winning side of 1980; notes that, as a St Mirren FC Hall of Fame inductee, Billy began his career at the club in 1975; further notes that Billy spent 13 seasons in Paisley, becoming a fans’ favourite with his tough-tackling, no-nonsense style, with 367 appearances for St Mirren FC, and expresses its condolences to his family and friends at this sad time.
