That the Parliament notes reported concerns about funding for NHS Scotland given the recent analysis by the independent Nuffield Trust, which estimates that over the next UK parliamentary term, a UK Conservative administration would increase health spending by 0.9 percent a year, and a UK Labour administration would increase health spending by 1.1 percent a year; further notes that, according to the analysis, these plans "would make the next few years the tightest period of funding in NHS history"; believes that these findings are cause for serious concern at a time when the NHS in Scotland needs proper investment to enable it to continue to provide services; notes the reported comments from the Nuffield Trust that, regardless of who wins the upcoming general election, these levels of spending would represent "an unprecedented slowdown in NHS finances", making it "inconceivable that it would accompany the dramatic recovery all are promising", and calls on all involved to be transparent about spending plans for the NHS and the level of investment needed and to properly fund NHS Scotland to protect it for future generations.
